Tongan Language Week

Tongan Language Week - Uike Katoanga'i o'e Lea Fakatonga enables all students the chance to learn some basic Lea Faka-Tonga, and gives students the chance to be experts in their classroom.

Even more exciting, I had the opportunity to support my two younger children with their Lea Fakatonga.  Dressed up in their Tongan attire, young children sang their songs which is normally sung at their Daycare.

Introduction to Fashion Designing

Introduction to Fashion Designing

6 weeks of Introduction to Fashion Designing lead to an intensive course structure of pattern drafting and sewing.  It was greatly inspiring and thankful that I was given the opportunity to reflect on my interests and how fulfilling it was to be creative in a different context of fine arts.  Over the 6 week period we drafted a pattern of a panelled skirt.

The enthusiasm of a more 3 dimensional format is exciting.  Everything that was pertained within the course was great.

Path Subject Information Evening - 29th August

Tamaki College Path Subject Information Evening

Awesome success with the Path Subject Information Evening.  Students, parents, family, friends and teachers with brilliant displays of their subject areas.  Great start with the mini exhibition.  Students artworks from previous and 2018 were on display.  Overall it was extremely beneficial that the community was able to view student talent from Tamaki College.

NEW SITE Week 5 Term 1

Incorporating the new site to deliver new programme of Visual Arts programme.
Making progress with my site.  Much easier than the old site.  Overall goal would be to target posts per week or twice a week.  General help form Lenva has been great!

Setting up Calendar for each year level - more structure.  Students receive due dates digitally.

Google Examination Level 1

Sitting the Google Level 1 Exam today, there alot of things to familiarise myself with.   Utilising the tools of Google classroom and the new site. I've learnt so much from this Professional Development.  I am very confident that these tools I've acquired will help in my teaching pedagogy and classroom planning.  Exploring the benefits of the digital classroom, encouraging 21st century work habits, organize and search gmail  to save time are just some aspects of digital learning that I will use.

Digital Fluency Intensive Week 8

 More flexibility with this site, using the button incorporating google drawing and link to colleagues sites was much easier than the original site.  Further steps are to enhance this further with setting up my class room/student sites.

Digital Fluency Intensive Week 7

Embedding a link into my teaching site.  I am very keen to practice regularly and I would definitely love to embed everything onto my site so it is finished.  Acquiring these skills to set up my site has enhanced my digital skills and confidence.
